A privacy-preserving listening layer for the people who keep a community running.
A public workforce is rarely in one building. Clerks, inspectors, maintenance crews, library and parks staff work across sites and shifts, and the support pathways that exist on paper reach them unevenly. An employee survey mostly hears from the people already willing to answer one.
Where it reaches people
- a poster in a break room or depot
- a QR code on a paycheck insert
- a link in an internal bulletin
HABLA records which placement was used — a poster, a code, a link. It records that a placement was used, never a verified location, and never a device.
What a person meets
The same four layers as everywhere else, written for employees across departments, sites and shifts.
- SPEAKStatements about workload, safety, money, health and home, offered to choose from rather than a form to fill in.
- SAYWords that make a request to a supervisor or a benefits office easier to start.
- CONNECTThe EAP, a department contact, or a public resource — named, and only if the person asks for one.
The four layers
Recognize, get words, choose a human, and give leadership an aggregate signal.
-
Recognize what you are carrying in plain language. You never have to write your situation out: the statements are offered, not typed.
-
Get words you can actually use to begin the conversation.
-
Choose a human or resource when you are ready. Skipping this step is a complete way to use HABLA.
-
What rises from the lane to this rule is a count. A person’s own path stops wherever they stop it, and what crosses this line is the count rather than the path — the organization receives how often a topic was named, never a route through the layers.
-
Give leadership aggregate signals without an individual behavioral profile. This is the only layer the organization sees.
What leadership receives
An agency sees which topics are surfacing across the agency, month by month, and how much activity each placement is seeing — never which topics at which placement, and nothing that identifies an employee or a team small enough to be one.
What is the same in every sector
The topics, the scripts, the contacts and the resources are written for the people actually reading them. What HABLA can and cannot know does not change between sectors, and it is not a setting.
Fixed in every sector
HABLA does not report on a department small enough to name a person. Below the floors, the count is suppressed rather than rounded.
What the anonymous experience stores, what it never stores, and how the separation is built.
Due diligence
Not an emergency service, and not monitored in real time
HABLA is not watched while somebody uses it. Nobody at HABLA reads what arrives as it arrives, no alarm goes off anywhere, and nothing reaches anyone faster because of what it says. If you or someone else could be hurt today, this website and this product are not the way to get help. In the United States, call 911 in an emergency, or call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at any hour.
The crisis resources HABLA ships, including 911 and 988, are in every plan and cannot be removed by a customer.
Ask what it refuses to tell you.
The fastest way to evaluate HABLA for this sector is to ask what it will not report, and check that the answer is the same in the walkthrough, on this site, and in the contract.
